Lemon Curd is an especially in Great Britain and North America Creammade from Eggs, Sugar, Butter and Lemon or as Lime Curd with limes is produced. The mass has a pudding-like-creamy texture. The particularly intense flavor of the cream is due to the fact that both juice and zests of the citrus fruits are used.
Lemon Curd belongs - similar to Marmalade - one of the traditional English spreads. As such it is classically with Toast or Scones to afternoon tea served.
