Bigos is a cabbage stew from steamed sauerkraut with various meat- and sausages as well as other varying ingredients. As the epitome of the classic Polish cuisine cuisine, it is especially popular in Poland as national dishis also a national dish in Poland for historical reasons. reasons, but also in Lithuania (Lithuanian name: Bigoss), Belarus (Belarusian Бігас Bigas) and the (mainly western) Ukraine (Ukrainian Бігос Bigos) is an integral part of the local cuisine.
